How We Work

How We Work HBF is overseen by a Board of Trustees made up of community leaders with experience in fund-raising, non-profit organizations, foundations, finance and horticulture. Board members serve staggered three year terms and are selected by a nominating committee from the current board. In addition, one Trustee is a member of, and designated by, the Hillsborough Garden Club. HBF has the full support of the Town Council as Hillsborough does not have a Parks & Recreation Department and has a limited budget for the maintenance of town properties and public spaces. The Mayor is a voting member of the Board of Trustees and the Town Manager is an ex-officio member of the Board. HBF strives to provide improvements in all geographical areas of Town and to include representation from a diverse group of Hillsborough citizens. HBF has four primary Committees that carry out the mission of the organization and enable HBF to have a significant impact on the quality of life in Town.
